The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam will be conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). SSC CGL Tier - I Exam
Tier – I Exam will be conducted in online and duration of exam is 60 minutes. The syllabus for Tier – I exam is General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and Comprehension. There will be 25 questions from each section and in total Tier-I exam contains 100 questions. Tier – I exam is of objective type which means it contains multiple choice questions. Note:In Tier-I exam there is a negative marking and 0.5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer which is attempted by the candidate.
SSC CGL Tier - II Exam
Tier – II Exam also will be conducted in online and Tier- II exam is also objective type which means it contains multiple choice questions. In Tier- II each candidate need to write four papers and these are Quantitative Abilities, English Language and Comprehension, Statistics and General Studies (Finance & Economics). The duration for each paper will be 2 hours and section wise details of the exam are shown in the table below

Note:
- In Tier- II, paper-I and paper-2 need to be attempted compulsorily by all the candidates.
- Paper-III need to be attempted by only those candidates who are shortlisted from Tier-I to attempt this paper and applied for the post of Junior Statistical officer.
- In paper- III and paper- IV questions difficulty will be like Graduation level, Paper – II questions difficulty will be like Intermediate level and in Paper -I questions difficulty will be like matriculation level.
- There will be a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer in Paper – I, Paper – III and Paper- IV and in paper- II there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
SSC CGL Tier - III Exam
SSC CGL Tier- III exam is of descriptive and candidates need to write Tier – III exam at their respective centres. Tier -III exam maim purpose is to test the candidate’s language proficiency, grammar knowledge, vocabulary usage and writing skills. Candidates have the choice to write Tier – III exam either in English or Hindi. Since it is descriptive type, candidates need to practice essay writing, letter writing, and other aspects which has been prescribed in the syllabus.

Note:
- This exam will be bilingual means, Hindi/ English as per the choice filled by the candidate earlier at times of application filling.
- The questions are based on 10+2 level.
- The exam is qualifying in nature. At least 33% should be scored by the candidate to qualify this particular tier, rest is dependent on cut-offs.

SSC CGL Tier - IV Exam
The SSC CGL Tier - IV Exam comprises of a couple of skill tests which are required for certain government posts and document verification procedure:
DEST (Data Entry Speed Test):
- Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) at 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depression per hour on Computer is specifically for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax).
- The “Data Entry Speed Test” Skill Test will be conducted for a passage of about 2000 (two thousand) key depressions for a duration of 15 (fifteen) minutes.
- This test will be of qualifying nature and is used to check the typing speed of the candidate.
CPT (Computer Proficiency Test):
- The Commission will hold CPT, comprising three modules

- The test will be conducted for the post of
- Assistant Section Officer of Central Secretariat Service (CSS), Assistant Section Officer (MEA), Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Assistant (GSI) in the Ministry of Mines.
- The CPT will be conducted in the manner decided by the Commission for the purpose. No exemption from CPT is allowed for any category of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates.

Document Verification:
Once the candidate clear’s the examination, he need to submit documents for verification. Candidates need to submit their Matriculation Certificate, caste certificate, 12th certificate, Graduation certificate (On the basis of service) and if any other relaxation has been taken, the candidates need to submit those documents. Candidates need to submit all the original documents during the time of verification.
