TSPSC & APPSC Group 1 and Group 2 Coaching
State services coaching for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission Group 1 and Group 2 examinations.
- Duration
- 4–8 months
- Who it is for
- State services aspirants in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
- Mode
- Offline at Ashok Nagar Signals, Hyderabad
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh state services are not a fallback behind UPSC — they are administrative careers with genuine authority, on a far shorter selection timeline, in your own state. Group 1 leads to posts such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Commercial Tax Officer and District Panchayat Officer; Group 2 to Municipal Commissioner, Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, Sub-Registrar and Assistant Section Officer.
The General Studies foundation overlaps substantially with UPSC. The divergence — and the place where selection is actually decided — is the state layer. For TGPSC that means the Telangana Movement and State Formation paper, the state's geography, economy, welfare programmes and administration. For APPSC it means Andhra history and culture, the Krishna and Godavari systems, the state's economy, and the post-bifurcation administrative reality created by the Reorganisation Act 2014.
Those state layers are exactly what national coaching material does not cover, which is why they are taught here as dedicated modules rather than as an appendix to a UPSC syllabus.

Curriculum
What this programme covers, module by module
Every module is taught with both the Prelims and the Mains requirement in view, so a single pass through a subject serves both papers.

Prelims screening, the descriptive Mains papers including General Essay, and interview preparation, with a dedicated Telangana Movement and State Formation module.
TGPSC Group 2 — four months
Objective preparation across General Studies and general abilities, History, Polity and Society, Economy and Development, and Telangana Movement and State Formation, focused on precision and speed.
APPSC Group 1 — eight months
Prelims, the descriptive Mains General Studies papers and interview preparation, with a dedicated Andhra Pradesh history, economy and post-bifurcation module.
APPSC Group 2 — four months
Screening test and Main examination preparation with the Andhra Pradesh-specific layer taught alongside the national General Studies base.
State current affairs
A separate regional current affairs track drawn from state budget documents, the Socio-Economic Outlook and Survey, department reports and regional dailies.
Descriptive answer writing
For Group 1 candidates, weekly descriptive writing with evaluation from month two, since the Mains papers reward organised, evidence-backed prose.

Questions
TSPSC & APPSC Group 1 and Group 2 Coaching — FAQs
How long are the TGPSC and APPSC batches?
Group 1 runs for about eight months and Group 2 for about four months, for both TGPSC and APPSC, reflecting the descriptive Mains and interview stages in Group 1 against the objective format of Group 2.
Can I prepare for UPSC and state services together?
Yes, if sequenced correctly. The General Studies base and national current affairs are shared; the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh layers must run as separate tracks. What does not work is attempting the state examinations with UPSC notes alone.
Which paper decides the TGPSC Group 1 result?
The Telangana Movement and State Formation paper, together with the state layer running through the geography, economy and governance papers. It demands specific names, dates, organisations and agreements.
Is the exam pattern fixed?
No. Both Commissions have revised paper structure, marks and negative marking across cycles. Always confirm against the notification for your cycle; the batches are aligned to the current notification.
